Turning of the Year

5th December 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 7:45 pm

£7

Turning of the Year is our annual singing festival. The performances take place at Blackheath Halls and are designed to give young people a unique opportunity to share in the excitement of making music in a professional environment with a large group of children from other schools, and to perform to a supportive audience of family and friends.

The concerts will consist of a group of about five or six songs which all participating schools sing together as a combined choir, and schools are asked to also perform an individual item of their choice. The combined songs will not have religious content, but some will be seasonal and will include some songs about Christmas. The songs will be straightforward to learn and may include optional extension activities such as harmony parts or rounds. Music and recordings will be available mid-October to give enough time for preparation.

Tickets will be available to the public from Wednesday 9 November via the Blackheath Halls box office.
