Fellowship Fest was an opportunity for Lewisham’s young emerging artists to work with us in a series of live recording sessions.

After an open callout, solo performers, Sura and Josh, and band, The Dishevelled Peaches were chosen to join London based video production company, Entervision Films for the day with the aim of giving them a professional experience, to build their confidence, and assist their development as musicians.

Working alongside the team of professional sound engineers and videographers, we filmed, edited and mixed their music. Check out the final music videos below, along with some feedback from the performers.

Sura

First up we had Sura who serenaded the cameras with a superb rendition of Fallin’ by Alicia Keys. Sura commented…

“It was such a fun experience and was truly rewarding and benefitted me hugely as I find performing in front of people very nerve-racking – my nerves get the best of me. It’s helped me learn to control my nerves by putting myself out there!”

Josh

Up next we had Josh with Skin n Bones, both lyrics and beat crafted by the guy himself. It was great to see Josh’s confidence build and go from strength to strength throughout the day! The tune was still ringing out in everyone’s heads for weeks. Josh commented…

“This was such an incredible experience. The team managed to calm my nerves and my performance felt great. I came out buzzing and could not stop smiling all day. I felt so proud of myself which I don’t say or feel very easily. Dare I say, I’d love to do this again. I really enjoyed performing.”

“These opportunities give me the chance to be responsible for my future and choices with further education. With every course I attend it just further ignites my love for everything music.”

The Dishevelled Peaches

Last up we had 5-piece ska and funk band Dishevelled Peaches with their original tune Hard to Please! They certainly brought some classic Madness vibes to Bellingham! It was quite a ‘Squeeze’ in the Theon Cross Room with the band and crew so we had to listen on from outside the room – the sax certainly had everyone bopping around the building!

MASSIVE THANKS to all the young artists for joining us and performing so amazingly, and to Entervision Film for creating the great videos! We hope to do something very similar in the near future so watch this space!
