CREATIVE CAREERS DAY: THE MUSIC INDUSTRY

Ever wondered how to make a career out of your passion for music? Discover the many hidden jobs that make up the UK’s thriving music scene from booking your artist to the technical set up of a gig and find out how they interweave at this free event for 14–18 year olds.

 

Get onstage and backstage with guest panellists and Southbank Centre professionals in four interactive workshops. Find out about how to put on a gig, press and marketing, production (sound, lighting, stage) and event management.

 

Take part in an interactive panel discussion on ‘Getting into the music industry’, hosted by CDR’s Tony Nwachukwu with guests Marina Blake (founder of Brainchild Festival), Spider J (producer, musician and tutor at The Roundhouse) and more.

 

Meet the organisations The Roundhouse, School Ground Sounds, RawMaterial, Wired4Music, National Theatre and others in short talks and find out how you can get involved. Then take the opportunity to ask questions to our professionals and pick up a free a handout with career ideas and top tips.
