Lewisham Young Producers

Lewisham Young Producers is an exciting music technology project funded by The Matthew Nicholls Foundation and delivered by Lewisham Music.

The project will be led by industry professional music producers and will give you a chance to learn new skills, work alongside other young producers and access professional equipment. Throughout 2021 we will be launching a programme of activity both online and at our new HQ above the Fellowship & Star in Bellingham.

The project will start with a free online course over the May/June half-term break.

GROUP 1 (AGES 11-14)

Tuesday 1 June – 10.30am-3.30pm

Beginner/Intermediate level (for those new to music production, or those with some experience)

GROUP 2 (AGES 14-18)

Wednesday 2 June – 10.30am-3.30pm

Intermediate/Advanced level (for those with a fair amount of experience of music production who want to push themselves to the next level and learn about the music industry)

Sessions will take place online via Zoom.

What music production package are we using?

The project can work with whatever software you are using already (BandLab, Soundtrap, Logic etc.).  However, all project participants will be given free access to VIP Studio Sessions. VIP is an online studio which allows young people to make new styles like Grime, Rap Beats and Afrobeats, whilst working independently, remotely and in online collaboration with tutors and other students.

VIP Studio Sessions

This licence will last for 12 months and can be accessed after the course from any computer with a browser, so that you can carry on learning after the course!
